The working time was investigated and the cost of constructing a new drainage outlet was estimated in a 30 a field by an operator using a tractor and a drainpipe retractable implement (outlet specification). The results showed that the working time per location and construction cost (material cost＋labor cost＋depreciation cost) per 10 a were as follows: 5.87 min and 987 yen, 50-mm-diameter drainpipe; 6.01 minutes and 1,496 yen, 100-mm-diameter drainpipe; and 7.43 minutes and 3,802 yen, 150-mm-diameter drainpipe. The time and cost (materials and labor) for constructing a 100 mm-diameter drainage dam were 11.75 minutes and 3,080 yen, respectively.
