To develop an automatic speed control technology suitable for integration into a high-moisture-paddy adaptability combine, utilizing a 6-row yield combine, we performed an accuracy test and characterized the relationships among grain throughput, grain moisture, and chaff loss. Subsequently, an automatic speed control was devised to mitigate the abrupt increase in chaff loss achieved when harvesting high-moisture paddies with a grain moisture content of not less than 25 % by dynamically changing the operating speed in response to real-time fluctuations in grain moisture measured by the yield combine. Furthermore, to develop the automatic speed control system, both the required boundary formula and the multiple regression model were established from the accuracy test data to predict chaff loss.
