A new pulsatile pump is made of a polycarbonate housing which includes a diameter of 25.4mm latex tube and two valves at the inflow and outflow orificies. Two models of the valves are fade, and effect of these valves on the flow was studied. The first model of the valve is made of delrin monocusp and is inclined at a 30° angle in the closed position, and the open angle of the valve is 60° at the peak flow. Second valve is made of vinyl chloride and works like a streamer. Calculated valvular area is 0.61cm2. Maximal flow rate was 5.9l/min against the resistance of 100cm H2O with the monocusp valves, and that was lower with vinyl chloride valves.
