Abstract
1. The increse of oxygen-blood flow ratio (V/Q) was corresponded well with the increase of both oxygen and carbon dioxide transfer rates as well. These rations were stabilized at the level of 0.5 and 3.0, respectively.
2. The increment of pulse rate of this device yielded with the increase of both of oxygen and carbon dioxide transfer rates. We conclude that the performance of this new type membrane oxygenator has certain advantages over to the conventional type, the optimum control index for clinical use appears to be established.
