Corparison of mechanical and xenograft valves in mitral position

Abstract

Clinical and hemodynamic assessments were carried out. There were no statistical differences in incidence of major thromboembolism between mechanical and xenograft valves. In actuarial survival and event-free rates, as well as in hemodynamics, mechanical valve seemed superior to xenograft valve.
