Two hundred three arterial reconstructions using Dacron prosthesis and Dardik Biograft were performed in 132 cases with aorto-iliac arterial aneurysm or peripheral arterial occlusive disease. Among 203 bypasses, there were 27 late failures. These consisted of 15 intimal hyperplasias at the anastomotic site, 3 scar stiffening constrictions, 1 progress of disease and 8 unknown etiologies. We consider intimal hyperplasia at the anastomotic site is the main cause of late graft failure regardless of vascular materials.
