Clinical application of our own permanent aortic clamp for the surgery of thoracic aortic aneurysms

Abstract

The standard surgical procedure for the distal arch and descending thoracic aneurysm is resection of aneurysm and orthotopic graft replacement. However in certain situation, this procedure is difficult to apply. Then extra-anatomical bypass from ascending to abdominal aorta with exclusion of aneurysm is better than conventional procedure. For the simplification of procedure, we have designed our own permanent aortic clamp for the exclusion of aneurysmal cavity and have already clinically applied on 8 patients. Our own aortic clamp has been very easy to use. The technique and operative results will be discussed.
