AN EXPERIMENATRY STUDY OF THE INTIMAL HYPERPLASIA AT THE A-V SHUNT IN THE POLY (ETER-URETHANE) GRAFT

Abstract

PEUG with different inner surface were implanted in canine, group A; all smooth, B, C; rough only at the anastomotic protion, small and large pore, and D: all rough surface. Neointimal hyperplasia of group C were smoother than others'. So, rough surface structure at the anastomosis may be useful to inhibit the proliferation of neointima because of its anchoring effect.
