Abstract
Using a part of the system, pacing rates during walking have been simulated and compared. with intrinsic heart rates. The feasibility of the system is discussed. The system is based on fuzzy control theory and the fuzzy-rates are calculated by Product-Max-Centroid method. Healthy volunteers(24yr, 40yr) walked on a treadmill at 4km/h(10min.) and 6km/h(10min.). Minute ventilation, oxygen saturation level, and heart rates were measured before, during, and after walking for about 60min. The agreement between calculated rates(fuzzy-rates) and intrinsic rates were very good except the one small but important difference between the rates before and after the exercise. This indicates the necessity of the third parameter which reflects the difference.
