Abstract
Comparison and analysis of two external bypasses via Biopump(LAB)and Temporary external bypass(TEMP)for Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms. We have used several external bypasses for operations of descending lesions of Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms. We used the temporary external bypass(TEMP) for 21 patients from 1977 to March 1988.Then we have used Biopump for 10 patients since April 1988. Intra-operative blood-loss in TEMP was much greater than LAB. When we use LAB, we can control the peripheral arterial pressure higher than that of TEMP. And urine of LAB during the aortic cross-clamping was much larger than that of TEMP. So we can use external bypass of LAB for safe and easy. Then we mean that LAB is the most useful external bypass for aneurysms of descending thoracic aorta.
