Abstract
We evaluated the gas transfer performance of a new hollow fiber membrane oxygenator (UNIVOX, n=4) using a confirmed ex-vivo testing method. UNIVOX had the better characteristics of oxygen transfer and CO2 removal than those of the other membrane oxygenators. In addition, in the clinical trials (n=24), we also got the satisfied results which could prove the confidence and efficiency in the further clinical practice of UNIVOX.
