Abstract
The radical correction of Budd-Chiari syndrome was performed on23 cases using the F-F bypass as a supportive method during clamping of the inferior versa cava. The flow rate in the F-F bypass was 42.5ml/kg/min. The average clamp time of the inferior vena cava was 26minutes. Operative times is ranged from 3 to 9 hrs27min (average 5 hrs 7min ). Loss Blood volume were 600ml to 4300ml (average 1830ml). We also reopened the occluded hepatic veins when possible, recanalizing in the 3 main branches in 14 cases and 2 of 3 main branches in 9 cases. There were no operative mortality, and all cases were discharged with a dramatic improvement of symptomes. From this study, it is concluded that the use of F-F bypass in radical correction of Budd-chiari syndrome is extremely beneficial.
