Abstract
Two cases with pacemaker infection in a remote phase are reported with association of statistical analysis of pacemaker patients between in private and in university hospital. Case 1: a fourty-seven-year-old male with old cerebral infarction and right hemiplegia received reoperation six months after the initial implantation due to infection in the pacemaker pocket. S aureus was positive by cultivation of punctured fluid. Case 2: a fifty-seven-year-old male patient was treated with reimplantation of pacemaker because of infection of pacemaker eight months after initial implantation. Statistical analysis showed significantly frequent complication of urinary tract infection and cerebral infarction, and in the contrast, significantly low grade of ADL in private hospital patients group (p<0.001).
