Abstract
We studied immunological ability of 34 adult patients operated open heart surgery with extracorporeal circulation (E. C. C.) used membrane oxygenator. These were divided into 4 groups (pulsatile pump group, high dilutional group, high flow perfusion group and immunoglobulin used group).
Total protein and that fractions, immunoglobulins (IgA, IgM, IgG, IgD and IgE), T-cell and B-cell were measured before, during and after E. C. C..
Totally immunological depression was shown during and after E. C. C. in all groups. But that depression was more remarkable in E. C. C. used high dilution including without blood transfusion. In E. C. C. used immunoglobulin, the decreasings of IgM and IgA were less than the others. There was no clear difference between E. C. C. used pulsatile pump and the others statistically.
