Experimental study was performed to determine the most preferable graft for the small arterial substitute. External or internal velour Dacron grafts and Gore-Tex graft were implanted in adult mongrel dogs and were removed for assessment. The patency rate and histologic evaluation revealed the superiority of velo ur Dacron graft. The results suggest that further experimental study of E-PTFE graft, as a small vessel substitute, is necessary prior to its clinical use.
