In the press working of Al-plated and Zn-plated steel sheets, coating materials are used to prevent wear and adhesion to the mold. These coating materials are required to have excellent adhesion and adhesion resistance. In the present study, we investigated the adhesion resistance and friction properties of various PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) films against Al and Zn. The number of rotations was 300 for the low cycle and 5400 for the high cycle. In the high cycle tests using Al balls, no adhesion occurred with TiCN, TiN, and AlCrN. In tests using Zn balls, TiCN and AlCrN did not cause adhesion and exhibited little wear. TiCN and AlCrN have excellent adhesion and wear resistance against Al and Zn, respectively.
