Abstract

On the cover

High-throughput genotyping data with the latest genome sequences provides more detailed information on the genetic diversity of each cultivar group in Japanese wheat. Association analyses of agronomic traits have revealed how genes or alleles have been selected in Japanese wheat breeding, and how they differ from those in other regions of the world. This study suggests that genetic resources having excellent genes and alleles are yet to be fully utilized, and are available for further wheat breeding (This issue, p. 259–273).
