The dried seeds of "Hiroshima local variety" of "Tororo-Aoi" (Abelmoschus Manihot) were irradiated with <60>Co-γ-rays and X-rays of 0.5KR, 5KR and 50KR and in its progeny, several new varieties having Phytophthora disease resistance have been bred up.
