Resistance of soybean varieties to the soybean cyst nematode was tested by two field experiments and a successive observation of number of cysts and nodulation on a pot culture. With these varieies, two types of resistance, "Peking"-type and "Gedenshirazu"-type, were classified. The former expressed by far the higher resistance in number of white cysts, nodulation and yield decrease than the latter.
