Abstract
In Camellia wabiske the normality of meiosis and formation of anthers and embryo sacs were different according to the variety. In both SUKIYA-WABISUKE and USU-WABISUKE there were more or less abnormal meiosis, while in KOTYO-SIRO-WABISUKE no anthers and embryo sacs were formed. From these results it was considered that there was a little homology among the chromosomes in C. wabiske. At megasporogenesis only dyads were formed in embryo, sac mother cells. In C. wabiske, abnormal formation of anthers and embryo sacs occurred by the, abnormal growth at a very young stage, and this abnormality was related to the time interval between microsporogenesis and megasporogenesis.
