Correlations among Various Characters of the Varieties belonging to C. iwasakii M. and the Classification of the Varieties belonging to Cyperus iwasakii M. and C. glomeratus L.

Abstract

Three hundreds and eighty five varieties of “Wangul” collected from all the parts of Korea were used for the material. The coefficient of correlations higher than ±0.50 were obtained in the followin 4% of 105 combinations of characteers ; seed breadth and seed type, green stem weight and green head weight, peduncle length and peduncle number, and stem number and stem thickness. Three hundreds and eighty two and three varieties belonging to Cyperus iwasakii M. and C. glomeratus L. respectively were pigeon holed into 179 and 2 respectively, on the basis of the standards of classification.
