A Correlation between Growth Inhibition of the First Leaf and Mitotic Delay after Irradiation of Soaking Barley Seeds

Abstract

After low dose irradiation during early soaking of barley seeds, the cause of growth inhibition of the first leaf was cytologically investigated. It was suggested that the growth inhibition was attributable to division delay of the meristem cells owing to temporal G₂-block.
