Twenty natural populations of apomictic dallisgrass were examined to look into its adaptive mechanisrns. The weediness of this species depends on its "general-purpose" genotype expressing tolerance to environmental stresses, competitive ability, phenotypic plasticity and colo-nizing ability by seed dispersal.
