【Introduction】Continuous kidney replacement therapy (CKRT) involves the use of hemofilters, which are categorized into adsorptive and nonadsorptive membranes according to their cytokine adsorption capabilities. This study aimed to compare the cytokine adsorption clearance of various hemofilters.【Methods】This single-center prospective registry study included 23 adult patients who underwent CKRT in the ICU at our center between May 2021 and March 2023. They were divided into four groups according to the hemofilter used: AN69ST (n=8), PMMA (n=4), PS (n=6), and CTA (n=5).【Results】The AN69ST group had the highest IL-8 adsorption clearance (54.9 [44.2-62.1] mL/min) than the PMMA (10.6 [2.0-20.0] mL/min), PS (5.3 [−8.6-11.1] mL/min), and CTA (6.0 [−2.0-15.1] mL/min) groups (p<0.01).【Conclusion】The AN69ST hemofilter had significantly higher IL-8 adsorption clearance than the PS, CTA, and PMMA hemofilters. Therefore, different hemofilters may exhibit varying cytokine adsorption clearances.
