Abstract
In this paper, we propose a gas chromatographic method of measuring absolute fatty acid content in serum cholesterolester, triglyceride, phospholipid, and free fatty acid. This method is able to correct for the loss of dividing in thinlayer chromatography by using two kinds of internal standard substances. Cholesterol and triglycerid values converted from total measurements of fatty acids in cholesterolester and triglyceride by this method, agreed with the enzymatic measured values. Thus method was used to measure the samples including those of hyperlipidemic patients. The measurements showed that the linoleic acid increases in high cholesterol sample, and oleic acid increases inhigh triglyceride sample.
