Abstract

In Hirata Village, Fukushima Prefecture, residents conduct simple inspections and keep a record book to identify bridge deformations during the five years between periodic inspections and the next periodic inspection. In order to utilize residents' simple inspection data for management, the inspection results must be manually entered into a database, which requires time-consuming data organization. In response, an application was built that allows inspections to be conducted using items similar to those on the "Simple Bridge Inspection Check Sheet" with the aim of efficiently utilizing inspection data. The application automatically obtains information on the inspector's location and starts up a camera function to take pictures of the bridge condition. Questionnaires and interviews were conducted on the degree of smoothness of the simple inspection using the application, operations that were confusing, functions that should be added, etc., to clarify points that should be improved or considered.
