Abstract

The second round of road facility inspections began in FY2019, and data on inspection results and diagnoses has been accumulated. In addition, the database that has been developed is expected to be utilized. On the other hand, it has been pointed out that the rate of initiation and completion of repair and other measures in municipalities is low, and that their ability to respond to disasters is declining. In this study, we examined the effect of road bridges damaged by strong earthquake motion on the evacuation distance of evacuees, using data from road bridge inspections and evacuation facilities. As a result of the analysis of road bridges managed by municipalities in Saitama Prefecture, it was found that there were evacuation facilities whose reachable area was reduced by more than 40% due to the impassable road bridges. This study has shown examples of the use of the database and examples of studies to promote repair and other measures.
