This study investigated a method for evaluating the elastic modulus of asphalt mixture layers using a local vibration test. Fatigue experiments were conducted on full-scale asphalt pavements, during which both local vibration tests and Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) tests were performed at each stage. The elastic moduli obtained from these tests were compared and examined, and a method for assessing the degree of deterioration of asphalt mixture layers based on the local vibration test results was also considered. The results demonstrated that the local vibration test enables direct in-situ evaluation of the elastic modulus of asphalt mixture layers. Furthermore, by correcting the elastic modulus obtained from the local vibration test to 20 °C and normalizing it as a relative elastic modulus, the possibility of quantitatively evaluating the deterioration of asphalt mixture layers was indicated.
