Abstract
The purpose of this paper is clarifying tha plan of making Capital Nanking (building the Capital of China) which was planned and executed from 1927 to 1936 as one of the major city plannings in the modern age of China by Studying historical materials, additionally giving some ideas to the city planning of Tokyo in future.
The plan of making Capital Nanking had been studied by the Committee for Building Capital led by Son Ka. In April 1930, the committee made general image of the city as the most important factor of city planning. It was called “Garden City-Like, Simply Old-Fashioned and Solemn plan of the Capital”. At the same time, other major plans such as utilization of the land, Bloks plan, greening the streets and the parks were decided.
The unique points was that greenbelt of the park were connected by the circular roads called Kanjo Daido and radial roads called Rinin Daido. Consequently, this planwere made by the main points of the new urbanstructur called “Big Blocks”.
By clarification as mentioned above that this plan was made based on the “ParkSystem” which was the thought of city planning setting value on the park, it should be proposed that city planning in modern age of China was of importance in the history of that in the world.
