Abstract
This paper proposes the new type of quantitative method for park landscape evaluation with using visual sensational information of both color and compositional arrangements. As for the analysis of color arrangement, degree of redundancy was defined and calculated by the concept of entropy. With regard to the compositional arrangement, complexity of composition was calculated by means of the Fractal analysis.
The results showed that the color arrangement was better coordinated at the others nucleus parks rather than at the block parks. Moreover, the calculated Fractal dimensions of compositional arrangement of the nucleus parks showed around 1.5 that is corresponding to that of several beautiful paintings of Impressionists.
