Abstract

Many examples of the bridge damaged by fire due to the traffic accident, doubt fire and so on under the girder have been reported. When composite girder bridges are exposed to fire, it is important to verify the damage of shear connections. However, damages of the shear connection can't be confirmed easily. Therefore, we carried out the static push-out test for the stud in and after fire up to 700°C. Also, we carried out the fatigue push-out tests for the stud after fire. From the comparison between the test results and the design value by Eurocode, it was found that the fatigue strength of the stud after fire in case of 700°C shows remarkable decrease due to the undesirable slip behavior.
