Abstract

Implemented the “Shield Construction Sludge Effective Recycling Project” in which the soil (construction sludge) generated from the mud pressure shield tunnel construction method is utilized as reclamation material. In this project, the “ETC manifest system” was developed as technology to ensure traceability. Operating this system for construction sludge recycling has led to a significant reduction in the labor required to create a manifest that is required for a series of industrial waste management processes. In addition, it was possible to issue up to 700 electronic manifests per day during that day. The system enables collection, integration, and sharing of manifest data in an immediate manner for each operator involved in discharge, transportation, and processing. Furthermore, it has been proved that this system has merits such as clarification of each company’s responsibilities, efficiency of transportation management work, and labor saving at a large discharge site.
