Abstract

Bridge inspections rely heavily on manual work of site engineers and are dangerous site operations. Therefore, automation and rationalization of inspection work are strongly required.

For this reason, robotization is considered to be effective in terms of safety and quality improvement. In particular, many methods using drones have been tried, but in this study, the wire support method that can obtain stable data with wide application range is selected.

Then, analyze the characteristics of the target bridge and determine the specifications, and we realized installation, entry into narrow areas, wide application range, etc., which are issues with conventional methods and we proved its practicality in a real bridge demonstration experiment.
