Abstract
Ordinary inspection system for tunnel lining requires many inspectors and much time for evaluation, so the system is generally costly. On the other hand, the budget for maintenance cost is limited as many tunnels become older. In this paper, new inspection system for tunnel lining is proposed, which is more rational than former systems. The proposed system consists mainly of laser measurement and sequential image analysis. We can evaluate rationally the grade of tunnel lining by using the systems. In case of finding the harmful deteriorations, the proposed system can take countermeasure more immediately than ordinary system. This paper presents the characteristics and cost-performance of the proposed system as compared with ordinary systems.
