Abstract
Basic information which guide the drivers properly to their destinations are the present position and the direction to which the drivers should progress.
In this research, "Intersection name" was extracted as the information which should be added to a present guide system, through the analysis on the problem of the road guide sign system. The use of the information to identify the present position and the effectiveness of the guide system where the intersection names were built in for the drivers to reach the destination smoothly, were clarified using an experimental method with a traffic simulator. As the indices to evaluate the effectiveness, the ratio of drivers who ran in the whole set of their scheduled route, the detour distance and the amount of psychological load etc. were used.
