STUDY ON THE REGIONAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BASED ON THE WATERFRONT

Abstract

There has been the authentic waterfront landscape based on cultural climate in Gujo city, Gifu. This study aims to find the factor of keeping the community, and the local rule part. The purpose of this paper, to support the regional planning and the waterfront design.
It is cleared that the role of waterfront in Gujo, and the structure of waterfront landscape by design survey. Furthermore, the study analyzed the role of community's local rule by hearing survey for residents in Gujo.
The study concludes that factor of keeping the community is that the community must change the waterfront and the local rule. It is proved that the local rule is organized for two kind of parts, “rule of action” and “rule of system”. And, it is cleared that the community change the waterfront space and its formation by the two rocal rule. Furthermore it is the most important for keeping the community and function of waterfront based on the cultural climate that individuals obey “rule of action”.
