Abstract
This research aims to the suitable design and management for an infrastructure on the mountaineer area which has aging and which depopulated problem and is in the crisis of a decline. Under the modernization, "path construction" carried out in the Kakinosawa district, Iida city. The research is proved that self building environment about the social capital brought about in an area. The research showed having inherited the local rule for a suitable environmental alteration, and having maintained the community corresponding to the changing social situation, when a resident built and managed around the environment where one live, by his hand. An infrastructure was improved by the community with attachment serves as a basis of the environmental recognition.
