Abstract
This paper explains the present situation of education and trainings being done in universities and several associations within Japan, including JSCE. Considering the economic crisis and the change of political power, the paper also focuses the importance of education and trainings of young concrete engineers for the future. One of the largest problem is expected drastic decrease of population, especially the young generation. To deal with the problem, the elder engineers must transfer the traditional methods of structural design and construction methods already developed, before they retire from the construction field. One good method may be to utilize "re-design techniques" to get the exact idea from the existing concrete structures.
