Abstract
This study evaluated the effectiveness of half-burnt dolomite in adsorbing arsenic (As) leached from excavated mudstone by batch and column experiments. The results showed that the dolomite adsorbed As (V) more effectively than As (III), and that the adsorption isotherms conformed to the Freundlich type. Not only As but also B leached from mudstone was adsorbed on dolomite by column experiments. In addition, 60% of As adsorbed was classified into a residual fraction by sequential extraction after column experiments. This indicates that the adsorbed As is immobile on the dolomite.
