Abstract
In recent year, Tianjin Zi'ya industry park the largest dismantling base for waste home appliances in northern China has been built. Howerer, the current household plastic waste (PW) recycling system in Tianjin is in bad situation such as low economic efficiency, bad environmental performance and labor health problems. In practice, the informal market, inefficient collection and transportation system and the pollution problems during the secondary production have also been pointed out. In this paper, the household PW in Tianjin was evaluated as the objective. The unlicensed recycle status quo was defined as present case, the modified recycle system in Zi'ya was defined as the improved case for comparison to estimate the CO2 emission mitigation. In particular, we focused on the transportation process. Grid-city model is used as a base for optimization calculation to determine the optimal amount of intermediate disposal sites. Finally, the GIS teachnology was used to do the estimation on the CO2 emissions for the two cases in details.
