Abstract

In order to promote conversions to sustainable industries which coexists with the coral reef ecosystem in the Yaeyama region, the friendship registration system was proposed as a moderate scheme to encourage businesses, organizations, and individuals to take actions which contribute to the preservation of the coral reef ecosystem, and was designed the framework of the system. Then, considering the innovator theory and the chasm theory, the effective diffusion strategy was analyzed and discussed. The guideline for soil conservation in agricultural lands was also organized to promote and improve agricultural measures for reduction of red soil runoff. In addition, the amount of loss without measures was estimated for the summer planting of sugarcane which has a large amount of red soil runoff, and a combined measure with low loss and high effectiveness in soil conservation was derived.
