Abstract

In this study, in order to investigate modal shift measures according to the characteristics of reverse logistics, we used survey data of logistics census to select transport by quantification theory type II for three modes of vehicles, rails, and ships. In addition, multiple regression analysis using transportation cost as the objective function was carried out. As a result, it was found that the discharge method such as container use and far transportation was a problem in the shift to the railway, not the transportation cost. On the other hand, since ships costs are a bottleneck, it was found that it is necessary to consider measures that contribute to cost reduction, such as joint transportation with the materials industry. The modal shiftable amount by the model was calculated, and the reduction rate of the reduction rate exceeding the target value of the reduction of carbon dioxide emission indicated by the industry was obtained.
