Abstract
Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. has constructed the PDCA cycle for the risk management of the entire group companies with the system of the integrated risk management. The emergency headquarters of crisis management is set up when the state of emergency occurs. The operation rules of emergency headquarters are provided in preparation for the occurrence of the state of emergency.
It is a large-scale earthquake that has the most devastating influence on the city gas business. The number of supply stop customers reaches about 1.2 million if Tokyo Bay northern part earthquake (M7.3) occurs, which is supposed by the government to occur with an epicenter located beneath the Tokyo metropolitan area. On the other hand, we continue the supply of the city gas to the rest of 9 million customers. Preventive measures suppress influences of disasters to the minimum. The emergency countermeasures after earthquake prevent the secondary disaster. In the restoration measures, we try to restart gas supply as early as possible in the region where gas supply stops.
In case pandemic influenza spreads widely, we try to keep the supply of the city gas. If a infected person with pandemic influenza is found domestically, we limit our business to the minimum which is necessary for supplying gas and urgent repair of gas leakage.
Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. promotes earthquake disaster prevention measures and preparation for pandemic influenza and other emergency circumstances. These measures make our business continuity more certain.
