Abstract
Masonry walls made with ashlars are often applicable as a protection work for cutting slopes along railways. Some behaviors of masonry walls during the earthquake have not been clarified. Therefore, we did not possess an evaluation method of stability of masonry walls, we afraid that these walls would collapse and harm on the train. Accordingly, we examined the applicability of the static analysis method to the behavior of masonry walls that carried out in front of the slope were shaken in the sine wave, based on the behavior clarified from the shaking table test that used the model. In consideration of the application to practical work, we built the simple model, which consisted of beams and spring elements. We calculated the behavior of the test models by the static analysis method using this analytic model, and we examined the applicability of that analysis model. It was clarified which numerical result from proposal method and the test result correspond while the wall is maintaining the structure.
