Abstract
In this study, the relationships among growth of Zizania latifolia, its bed thickness and predation by swan were evaluated to improve the efficiency of transplant and control of Z. latifolia to swan. It was found that the production of the rhizome of Z. latifolia was affected by not only the growth of the plant biomass on the ground but also inflow or outflow of floating Z. latifolia due to predation by swan, depending on the bed thickness. Based on the findings, it was suggested that the production of the rhizome of Z. latifolia to swan could be maximized more effectively by maintaining the bed thickness and controlling the inflow or outflow of floating Z. latifolia.
