Abstract

 The process of deformation of the clay bed in the curved open channel was investigated. As a result, the process of deformation and structure of the clay bed are influenced by the amount of sediment feeding in the curved channel. When the amount of sediment is little, erosion of clay bed occurs at near the inner side. On the other hand, when the amount of sediment is much, erosion of clay bed occurs at near boundary between clay bed and sand layer on the clay bed or the outer side. Continuing the experiment with the amount of sediment is much, the deformation of the bed reaches dynamic equilibrium state. Also, in case of only water flow after being coverd with sand, clay bed was exposed and eroded again.
