Abstract

In order to achieve the greenhouse gas reduction target set by the Paris Agreement, it is essential to reduce the immense impact caused by the traffic environment. The introduction of low-carbon, next-generation transportation systems such as EV, LRT and autonomous vehicles has been attracting attention to reduce the environmental burden of transportation. In this study focused on low-carbon transportation systems and quantitatively evaluated the environmental improvement effects of next-generation transportation systems under the assumption of actual traffic flow in terms of traffic volume, EV penetration rate, and power supply composition ratio. In addition, the changes in transportation behavior caused by telework were incorporated into the big data of location information to clarify the environmental burden of transportation, and it was revealed that the environmental burden could be reduced to about half of the current level in 2050 when telework becomes widespread.
