In place of the conventional vertical seawall and seawall covered with wave-dissipating blocks, improved seawalls (upper flare-shaped seawall, double-parapet seawall, and double parapet permeable-type seawal) with low crown height and high overtopping reduction effect are expected as new overtopping countermeasures by devising shapes.
The authors have already experimentally verified the effectiveness of the improved seawalls in reducing wave overtopping by hydraulic experoments under a channel slope of 1/10. This study aims to further verify the effect of the improved seawall on reducing wave overtopping by hydraulic experiments for a 1/30 channel slope and seawall covered with wave-dissipating blocks, which have not been conducted in previous studies.
