The objective of this study is to increase the number of bus drivers. The actual working environment of the bus business and other industries was compared. The results showed that bus service workers were paid less and had longer working hours than workers in other industries, but had more paid vacations per year. In addition, they were more dissatisfied with “salary,” followed by “sufficient working hours and holidays”. A questionnaire survey was conducted on license holders of heavy vehicles or route bus drivers, asking about their employment intentions. Conjoint analysis was applied to this intention. The average respondent did not find the employment conditions in the bus business attractive when set as the current general employment conditions. Furthermore, we found that it is difficult to increase employment and prevent job turnover simply by providing caregiving and childcare services. However, it was found to be a significant factor in changing employment intentions. The results indicate that caregiving and childcare services can play a supplementary role.
