Abstract

This paper discusses the long-term impact of COVID-19 pandemic on inbound tourism from China aiming to investigate the prospect in the post-pandemic. First we review trends concerning COVID-19 impact studies at home and abroad and then introduce the empirical results from two cross-sections WEB-based data in 2020 and 2022 to explore how the pandemics have had various impact on not only changes in daily activity and travel patterns, those in attitude toward the risk with the pandemic, but also those in intention of visiting Japan in the post-pandemic. Besides, the challenges that we should verify for evidence to support inbound tourism restoration policies are finally summarized.
